Your first defense

Choose a mode and difficulty, then select Start game. The arena centers once on the page. Tap or click the glass target panel to type; the matching threat has a Next marker. Your first typed character starts the clock, so you can get comfortable first.

Type, clear, repeat

The final correct character clears the target automatically. Wrong characters count as errors but do not advance your position: try the highlighted character again. Backspace removes your last accepted character without erasing past errors. Space and Enter are ignored inside the input. Paste, drop, and automatic text replacement are unavailable.

Keep the shield intact

You start with five shields. Each unresolved arrival removes one; incorrect characters do not damage shields. If your target arrives before you finish, its unfinished prefix is discarded and the next target is highlighted. One-minute and two-minute runs finish when time runs out or the shield is depleted. Survival continues until the shield is depleted or you choose End run. Pressure increases gently through six waves, then plateaus.

A cleared word earns 10 points per character. A clean target adds 10 points, then a combo multiplier applies: every five consecutive clean clears adds 0.25×, up to 2×. The just-cleared word advances the combo before its award. Errors and shield hits reset the chain. A target with errors earns its base points at 1×. A heavy meteor adds a fixed 25-point clear bonus. Shower targets score normally, without an extra multiplier.

Heavy meteors and meteor showers

Occasional heavy meteors carry one longer word and give you extra reaction time. Type that word once to clear the rock. A small Meteor shower warning introduces a short staggered arrival of ordinary meteors. Your highlighted target stays locked while you type. Heavy meteors and showers do not overlap.

Pause and take your time

Use Pause, or press Escape while typing. Moving focus away from the input, switching tabs, or leaving the window pauses the run. Choose Resume to continue; returning to the tab never restarts it. A long browser delay also pauses safely and is noted in your results. New game asks before abandoning your current attempt and opens mode/difficulty setup. Restart run keeps the same choices. Play again from results uses the same mode and difficulty.

Low motion uses stationary threats and readable time bars with the same rules and score. It follows your device's reduced-motion setting automatically. For no deadline at all, choose Relaxed practice before starting. Clear one stationary target, select Next target when ready, and choose Finish practice to see your cleared count and accuracy. Practice has no score competition or mastery award.

Sound and a bigger view

Sound effects are synthesized on your device. Use Mute sound or Enable sound and the volume slider (inside Settings during play); sound stays silent until you choose Start, Resume, or Enable sound. Existing mute preferences are respected. Sound is optional and carries no information you need to play.

Full screen expands the whole game when your browser supports it. Escape or Exit full screen returns to the page. If the browser declines, Use expanded view fills the browser viewport while keeping its controls visible. Display changes pause the run; choose Resume to continue. Your target and input stay in place. Phones and browser policies may limit native fullscreen.

Typing cracks the highlighted meteor; the final character clears it immediately before its decorative breakup. Shield hits damage the craft. At zero shields your result is finalized immediately, with a brief ship breakup you can skip using Show results. Low motion shows a static wreck. Timed finishes and voluntary practice endings leave the ship intact.

What your results mean

Accuracy is correct committed attempts divided by all correct and incorrect attempts, including retyped characters. An untyped missed word is a missed target, not invented typing errors. Game pace is cleared characters divided by five per active minute; partial and retyped prefixes do not increase cleared output. It measures game throughput, not standard typing-test WPM. No-input accuracy and zero-time pace are unavailable.

Only on this browser

The game keeps up to 50 recent summaries, your settings, and best scores for the same ruleset, difficulty, and timed or survival mode. New runs use Ruleset 2; historical Ruleset 1 results and bests stay separate and unchanged. Practice and abandoned runs are excluded from score comparisons. Game results do not affect typing benchmarks, personal pace, weak keys, assessments, or lesson mastery.
